A flower from the baobab tree
Danny Ward, John Innes Centre

The image shows a flower from the baobab tree Adansonia digitate, found on the Pwani University grounds in Kilifi, Kenya. This was used for DNA extraction, purification and subsequent molecular analysis by students of the AfriPlantSci19 summer school. This was a 2 week workshop led by staff and "PIPS" PhD students from the John Innes Centre and the University of East Anglia.
