Aphids feeding on Arabidopsis
Claire Drurey, John Innes Centre
A Family group of aphid and two nymphs feeding on Arabidopsis. Aphids are sap-feeding insects of the order Hemptera and are among the most destructive pests in agriculture. Scientists at the John Innes Centre on the Norwich Research Park have developed functional genomics resources for hemipteran insects, predominantly the green peach aphid Myzus persicae, to understand how aphid effectors and their targets will lead to the development of novel pest resistance strategies.
