Ash dieback disease
Kim Findlay, John Innes Centre.

Pre-fruiting body of Hymenoscyphus fraxineus (the ash dieback fungal pathogen) growing out of the dead leaf stalk of an ash tree, imaged by cryo-scanning electron microscopy. Scientists from The John Innes Centre, The Sainsbury Lab and The Genome Analysis Centre on the Norwich Research Park are working together to better understand the pathogen in the hope of finding a way to combat the spread.
