Yellow rust disease on wheat leaf
Kim Findlay, John Innes Centre.
The wheat (Triticum aestivum) cultivar Vuka is susceptible to yellow rust disease. This image shows a leaf ruptured by emerging spores post-infection with the yellow rust fungus (Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici). Imaged by cryo-scanning electron microscopy and false-coloured using Photoshop in the Bioimaging facility at the John Innes Centre on the Norwich Research Park.
