X-ray crystallography is used to determine the 3D structure of a protein. Scientists at the John Innes Centre on the Norwich Research Park analyse the 3D structure of proteins to help uncover and understand their function. This image shows a protein crystal from the antirrhinum plant that is believed to be involved in the symmetry of flowers.
