Hydrogen isotopes in wheat
Nikolai Pedentchouk

Scientists on the Norwich Research Park are investigating how the quantity and chemical composition of leaf waxes affects wheat grown under UK climatic conditions. Their approach involves characterization of hydrogen isotope and biochemical compositions, as well as monitoring a range of physiological responses in wheat lines differing in the extent of glaucousness. The information will be used to establish how the presence/absence of glaucousness affects leaf transpiration and wheat productivity.
