Protein crystals
Miriam Walden and Mark Banfield (JIC)

Image supplied by the Banfield Lab at the John Innes Centre on the Norwich Research Park. Repeated arrays of protein molecules that assemble into crystals are required for structure determination by X-ray crystallography. X-ray crystallography reveals the atomic structure of molecules. These atomic structures can offer unprecedented insights into biology.
